The Notorious Bush Tucker Trial
For more than 50,000 years the Aboriginal people of Australia lived on the huge variety of plants, fruits, vegetables, animals and birds that existed in the Australian bush country. This food, or tucker, came to be known as bush tucker.
Inspired by the culinary delights of deepest Australia, we're delighted to bring you our very own Bush Tucker Trial, hosted by our bushman for the week, Jungle Jim.
Each day, a handful of brave volunteers gather to sample the delicious, protein rich morsels on offer.
Many have risen to the challenge, but not all have succeeded. Are you brave enough to take on the mystery dishes? Will you swallow your way to glory or face the dishonour of having to chuck it in the bucket?
The dishes you face are too alarming to reveal here, but you can judge for yourself from some of the reactions in our Bush Tucker Photo Gallery.
The rules are simple. You can't volunteer if you have food allergies. You can't volunteer if you're a vegetarian. And we promise you faithfully...no alligators were (seriously) harmed in the production of these dishes!
