Dreamcatching from the Americas

The dreamcatcher is a magical web, first woven by the Ojibwe Nation of American Indians.

When placed above a child's bed, or cot, the dreamcatcher catches and traps any bad dreams that are sent to the child, but it allows nice dreams to pass through.

The first light of the morning burns away the bad dreams that the dreamcatcher has caught.

A traditional dreamcatcher is made around a hoop of willow wood and uses feathers in its decoration. Ours are a little lighter and more colourful!
